Pully Art Museum

The Pully Art Museum presents temporary exhibitions of modern and contemporary art in Villa Flora, a Belle Époque residence built in 1900. You can also discover a permanent collection of 20th- and 21st-century works, shown on a rotating basis.

Main highlights

  • Temporary exhibitions of modern and contemporary art, with a focus on artists from French-speaking Switzerland
  • Belle Époque villa from 1900, with high ceilings, original woodwork and parquet floors
  • Permanent collection of 20th-century works by Steinlen, Alice Bailly and Ernest Biéler

Overview

The museum is housed in Villa Flora, a residence built in 1900 in the Belle Époque style typical of the Lake Geneva shores. Located in a residential area of Pully, the villa was acquired by the municipality in 1975 to create a space dedicated to the visual arts.

Successive renovations have brought the rooms up to museum standards while preserving the character of the building. The high ceilings, original woodwork and parquet floors give the galleries a warm atmosphere, far removed from the neutrality of contemporary exhibition spaces. A tree-lined garden surrounds the villa.

What to see and do

The programme features several temporary exhibitions each year : monographs of emerging or established artists, thematic shows and displays drawn from the collection. The museum favours artists from French-speaking Switzerland while remaining open to the international scene. Painting, sculpture, photography, video and installations follow one another in the galleries.

The permanent collection comprises several hundred 20th- and 21st-century works, built up through purchases, donations and bequests. Due to limited space, it is never shown in full and is presented on a rotating basis. Highlights include Théophile-Alexandre Steinlen, Alice Bailly and Ernest Biéler.

The museum offers guided tours, creative workshops for children led by artists, and tours tailored to school groups, with teaching materials for teachers.
