Overview
The Domaine des Îles is a 55-hectare leisure and relaxation area located west of Sion, the capital of Valais. Its centrepiece is a large swimming lake surrounded by trees. The estate is managed by the Bourgeoisie de Sion and offers a wide range of sports and leisure activities.
In the past, the branches of the Rhône meandered across the plain, forming “islands” of marshland. Since the Middle Ages, the people of Sion grazed their livestock here. Over time, this land was transformed into a green space and leisure area.
