  • Playgrounds and fire pits with tables and benches along the forest trail
  • Views over the Jogne Valley, the Dent de Broc and the Gastlosen range

Overview

The Slide Trail winds for about 3 km through the forest overlooking Charmey, in the Jogne Valley. This themed trail was designed to offer families a hike punctuated by seven stainless steel slides, ranging from 15 to 55 m in length.

The route starts in the village centre, near the tourist office, and climbs gradually through a forest of spruce and fir. The ascent is around 150 m, on a well-maintained path. The slides then let you come down certain sections quickly.

What to see and do

The seven slides are the main attraction. Each has its own length, slope and bends, and bears a name linked to the region or to nature. The longest is 55 m. The stainless steel stays slippery in all weather, and you go noticeably faster when it rains.

Information panels introduce the wildlife, plants and special features of the forest. Several playgrounds line the route, with wooden swings, climbing frames and log features. Benches and rest areas allow for regular breaks.

Fire pits with tables and benches are available for picnics and barbecues. From certain spots, the view opens onto the Jogne Valley, the Dent de Broc and the Gastlosen range.
